The domain name 1.xyz sold for a record breaking price: $182,971 in 2017 and wrp.xyz in 1,10,000 USD in 2022 . Several other domain names like hk.xyz, vip.xyz and 66.xyz sold for $30k or more.

Not long ago the .xyz TLD joined other ICANN-approved generic top-level domains, which include .com, .gov, .edu and over 700 others. Late last year industry publications noted that Google’s holding company Alphabet began using a .xyz domain (abc.xyz). It was a signal to some that .com would no longer dominate domains, and .xyz sites may get a boost in ranking.
If nothing else it gave the .xyz TLD a big boost in business. Founder Daniel Negari told Wired Magazine that after Alphabet launched its .xyz URL new registrants jumped from 3,000 a day to 10,000 a day.
Yenugula sold over 300 .xyz domain names with a median price of $2,000, or roughly $600,000 in revenue.
163 .xyz domain names were sold for a total of $819,880. The average price was $5,030.
Yenugula’s sales aren’t just luck. She is invested a lot in .xyz and the quality of names she sells are no longer available to hand register. In April, she carried a portfolio of 16,000 domains. Back then, she told me her investments were profitable with a total investment of $450,000. Given the high prices she’s getting for .xyz domains lately, it looks like she’s doing even better.
